Latin American Literary and Cultural Studies

Latin America is the non-universalizing identity among the many singular worlds that inhabit it. We are faced not only with an untimely cultural world, but also with its discontinuity, an entity that sparkles, appears and disappears, according to the times. The nationalistic interpretation of essays, the new world speeches, the regional narrative, the experimental poetry, the testimony literature are some of the variants of this multiplicity which show that within the polis, the literate city of Rama, there is always an element of a-polis, apolitical or even anarchic, with which needs to be dealt with. Thinking of a Latin American epistemology based on the literature and culture of the region makes the experience and democracy possible.
